My folks had something like this when I was growing up to save money on heating and cooling.
Boy It Did Work Better than the double pain windows because of the dead space inbetween. Can we get these in the states?

How good are your double pane windows? I have Milgard windows in my house and I live off of a extremely busy street. I don’t hear any outside noise even when the kids are out making a ton of noise. The condo I use to own in Guam has Pella windows and they did an amazing job of keeping the noise from the beach out. My only suggestion is the buy good quality windows. From my experience the more expensive windows are the best.
@frankiej510 ….I lived in the corner house…sometime it can get a lot of noise during traffic. I replace all the window with a double panel window. but I can still hear loud noise…I tried to find solution, any suggestion will be appreciate.. thanks

Let me get this straight. Instead of replacing the window with a double pane window you added another window inside of the house? Doesn’t that seem a bit lazy and backwards?
